Obviously we all have grown up learning that failure is harmful to our confidence and overall quality of life. Consequently, we feel demotivated and frustrated after committing mistakes. It is time we teach our students to let go off these emotional captivities.

Emphasizing on perfection

Another common, yet powerful barrier to effective learning is the belief that students should always aim for the perfect grade in all the courses in their major. Remember, learning is not intended to acquire perfection, but a purpose and meaning. This is why students should be advised to solve problems and explore newer perspectives until the right solution is obtained. Putting it simply, it is fair to say that learning is not a one size fits all philosophy, but every students in the class has his/her own style and preferences suiting them best.
